Curry Pie

A great friend of mine (who i won't embarrass by naming) is a great cook, yes among CARMEL'S many talents is her ability to turn the most ordinary of ingredients into a culinary masterpiece that would satisfy the king of Norway himself. Now Carmel introduced me to the, and i use the word cautiously, delights of a curry pie. For those of you who like me have never heard of a curry pie let me enlighten you. You make a curry be it beef, chicken or old boot, as normal. Once made the curry is placed in pastry and baked in the oven until the pastry is golden brown. Now in case you misread that i said the curry goes inside the pastry! I'm sorry but curry belongs in a tray, on a plate, on the ground outside the local after a feed of pints but in a pie it does not!

Incidentally Carmel (oops there i ago again) can make a roast chicken or Turkey last soooo long that before cooking them she actually gives them a name, only last Tuesday we finished the last of Bill which was Carmel's Christmas Turkey. Yes Bill was served up on Christmas day and every day ending in "Y" between then and last Tuesday when it was served on a toasted bun with the last of "Edna" - Carmel's Christmas ham........Now seriously what's that all about?
